Material Handler

Hours: 6:00am-2:30pm M-F (some OT required)
Pay: Up to $19/hr
Primary responsibilities will include picking material and doing production packaging. Bagging/boxing of automotive parts and labeling them. This person needs a basic skillset and work ethic is more important than skillset. Will train the right individual. Bonus if the candidate already has experience operating a Hi-lo.
Job Summary:
The Material Handler I will transport product in the warehouse and shop using a power
industrial truck (PIT). The role will load and unload delivery trucks, participate in the packaging process,
record the product received and put product in the proper shelf spot. The Material Handler
ensures the warehouse and shop areas are fully stocked and have the products properly picked to
complete pick orders needed to fulfil orders. The Material Handler will be mentored and
supported by team members on project work and customer interactions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves. Read work orders or
follow verbal instructions.
• Identify, inspect, and track incoming and outgoing parts for quality, quantity, and accuracy.
• Supply build floor with material build kits.
• Operate an industrial truck (Hi-lo)
• Load materials and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
• Clean, organize, remove packing dunnage, and keep work area clean.
Education and Experience (required):
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No previous experience required.
Education and Experience (preferred):
• Experience working in manufacturing and or materials.
• Understands concept of good customer service, reliable attendance, and ability to work
overtime.
• Ability to obtain or qualify for an industrial truck license.
• Ability to read, count and communicate inventory data both written and verbal.
• Ability to follow directions and learn new skills and detail oriented.
• Basic computer skills.
Position is long term contract with possibility of direct hire based on attendance/performance.
