**Would like to find someone that has worked with fiberglass insulation, or home improvement, or caulking and gluing.**
Hours: 6:00am-2:30pm (Some OT required)
Pay $18/hr (more if you have composite experience.)
Job Summary:
The Composite Technician I, an entry level role, will work with carbon fiber, fiberglass, Kevlar, and high-modulus composite materials and parts. The Composite Technician will fabricate composite parts and complete required paperwork and documentation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Prepare molds for lay-up and maintain mold surface quality. 10%
• Verify ply materials and counts are correct before the lamination process. 10%
• Maintain proper ply orientation sequence during kitting and lamination. 10%
• Lay-up into molds using prep-impregnated material, or apply liquid resin to materials and lay-up into molds. 40%
• Prepare vacuum bags following general bagging and debagging procedures. 10%
• Trim, drill and assemble composite parts using small hand tools. 20%
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities (required):
• Ability to work overtime and some weekends.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions to ensure part conformity and continuous improvement.
• Mechanical skills, upper body strength, and dexterity.
• Ability to consistently follow strict policies and safety guidelines.
• Ability to work as part of a team to ensure quality standards are met.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities (preferred):
• Demonstrated skill with small hand tools (drills, sanders, grinders).
• Basic computer and math skills.
Transferable skill sets: Carpenter, Dry wall work, framer, fabricator, hobbies that are artistic in nature. Based on the experience, and from talking to them candidates, the HM will place them in one of these three areas. Experience with small hand tools experience will be considered - composite experience not required.
Position will be long term contract with opportunity to go direct based on attendance/performance
