Pay range: Up to $32 /hr, based on experience
A CNC Machine Shop Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the proper maintenance and repair of computer numerical control (CNC) machines in a manufacturing facility. The primary responsibilities of the job include:
- Performing regular maintenance on CNC machines: This involves inspecting, cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting machines to ensure they operate efficiently and accurately.
- Diagnosing and repairing machine problems: The technician is responsible for identifying and troubleshooting issues with CNC machines, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and software-related problems.
- Conducting preventive maintenance: The technician should schedule and perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent machine downtime and minimize repair costs.
- Keeping records of machine maintenance: This includes documenting maintenance schedules, repairs, and parts used to maintain an accurate maintenance history.
- Ordering and stocking machine parts: The technician should ensure that necessary parts are ordered and stocked to minimize machine downtime.
- Collaborating with machine operators and other CNC setup personnel: The technician should work with other CNC Setup personnel to troubleshoot and solve machine issues and communicate with machine operators to identify potential problems.
- Troubleshooting and Upkeep of forklift and overhead crane.
- Adhering to safety standards: The technician should follow established safety procedures, LOTO and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
To perform this job, a CNC Machine Shop Maintenance Technician should have the following qualifications:
- Associate's degree or technical certification in mechanical or electrical engineering, or related field.
- Experience in maintenance and repair of CNC Lathe, Mill, Grinders, Hydraulic Broach, Saw machines, Overhead crane, Forklift and miscellaneous equipment.
- Familiarity with various CNC software interfaces, such as FANUC and SIEMENS
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols.
