Sterling Heights, MI
Company is a global producer of stainless, electrical and specialty steel.
1st Shift Position
Pay Rate: $30/hr based on experience

Job Summary
Responsible for performing preventive and ongoing facility maintenance and completing repairs on equipment to increase uptime and reliability to meet production and quality goals. The position will support operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing and optimizing the facility and manufacturing equipment including but not limited to; fabrication, installation and welding while adhering to all safety standards.

Responsibilities for the role:
Identify, troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and simple electrical problems on plant facilities and production equipment.
Performs preventative maintenance per defined interval/schedule in a timely manner and documents maintenance concerns/resolutions providing action plans and status reports as needed. Recognizes and corrects potential equipment failure or unsafe conditions and communicates this to management.
Perform machine shop work operating various machines such as drill presses, grinders, welders, cutting equipment (i.e. chop saw), pneumatic tools and electric/manual hand tools

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Strong mechanical repair/troubleshooting and metal processing equipment
Must be able to satisfactorily demonstrate proficiency in Machine Repair, Machine Tool Operations, and Welding.
Functional knowledge of mechanical components (valves, pipe fittings, bearings, motors, gearboxes, etc.).
Ability to read and/or interpret mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic blueprints or schematics.
Be able to perform basic reading and arithmetic problems involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Be willing and able to learn shop math, including simple geometry.
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, job related internet research.

MUST HAVE: background from Steel Ind. & experience working with steel equipment (slitters, press feeds, roll forming, etc.)
Profile for the Candidate is to have:
High School Diploma/GED minimum required education.
3+ years of industrial manufacturing environment maintenance experience.
Hydraulic and pneumatic systems experience.
A good understanding of electricity, electronics, production machinery systems.
Must be proactive and mechanically inclined.
Must have excellent attention to detail and have the ability to multitask and prioritize.
Degree/Certification Mechanical Engineering, Technical or Trade education preferred.
