Job Description

Applications Engineer (manufacturing) 
Armada, MI
Manufacturer and supplier of components for assembly automation, medical applications and mobile machinery
Salary: $85-100K/yr 
Direct Hire
Once trained, this position may be Hybrid
Key Responsibilities:
Manage technical relationships with customers, including responding to basic technical enquiries, handling technical complaints, and managing technical risks, benefiting for support and coaching from more senior application engineers 
To identify and analyze technical details of customer's requirements and to communicate these clearly and accurately to both the customer and the organization. 
To support application reviews on machines and equipment. 
To work closely with the sales organization, contribute to opportunity generation and support the development of value-added solutions. 
To understand, use, interpret and verify results from basic (application) engineering software to create value for customers. 
To be responsible for customer relationship management at the engineering level. 
To participate in the execution of Root Cause Analysis of the customers' application. 
To support internal and external trainings. 
To represent the company and its products and services at customers and institutions through visits, presentations, seminars, and fairs. 
To follow management instructions and procedures; to report Environment Health and Safety (EHS) risks and EHS related incidents; to follow quality specifications and requirements and identify quality risks and opportunities for improvement. 
Any additional task as requested by the organization. 

Education & Experience Required: 
BS Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Engineering degree 
2 years of application experience in a motion control environment
Experience calling on customers preferred. 

Professional Skills Required: 
Customer relationship management experience in order to drive and influence customer technical choices. 
Understanding of Project Management concepts and related key tools like 
Strong teamwork attitude. 
Good communication skills and openness toward multi-cultural team management. 
Availability to travel (locally and internationally). 
Knowledge of Linear Motion platform of products. 

Other Requirements: 
Must be authorized to work in the United States 
Strong mechanical aptitude 
Motors, motion control and PLC background preferred 
Excellent technical skills, communication and presentation skills 
Ability to work in a global, cross-cultural and multi-functional team environment. 
Computer literacy 
Travel requirements (Less than 20%)
