Port Huron, MI

1st Shift
Salary up to: $60,000 to $80,000
Direct Hire 

Seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to develop and maintain quality systems according to standards and to assist customers with any issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Statistical support including DOE for product and process
Set up SPC parameters for QAS.  Instruct dimensional Inspectors as need on technique
Develop and maintain quality system for projects assigned
Lead and/or participate in implementation and discipline of SPC
Develop process flow and control plans and assist in process FMEA's
Develop all quality related instruction sheets
Participate on AQP teams as needed
Participate on 8D and Continuous Improvement teams, provide problem solving consultations as needed.
Put PPAP Packages together for submission to customer.
Responsible for resolution of customer issues for the project assigned
Coordinate gage R & R studies for all new programs
Provide leadership and guidance for quality personnel in the use of quality methods
Coordinate and/or perform capability studies
Development and completion of customer sample submission packages
Direct contact for all assigned customer base
Work with customers for resolution of product quality issues
Perform all other duties assigned by Quality Manager
Report any unsafe conditions to your Supervisor
Continue training as required
Understands customer specific requirements
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required by the Supervisor to maintain and operate a safe, efficient and quality conscious operation
Environmental Responsibilities- Cooperation with action team directives. Familiar with evacuation plans. Trained in clean-up modules. Familiar with environmental plant postings.
Supervisory Responsibilities- In the event that this position becomes vacant, the Quality Manager will resume responsibilities.  

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience- College or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Must have experience and/or training in Statistical Process Control, QSB and LPA.
Language Skills- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
