Quality Engineer (metal parts)

Salary: $28 - 38/hr based on experience

Job Function:
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all products meet the highest quality standards and specifications.
- Key Responsibilities: Perform quality control inspections on metal parts using various measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, CMM and gauges to ensure product conformity
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions to resolve quality issues
Develop and implement quality control procedures and work instructions
Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and improve overall product quality
Perform regular audits of production processes to identify areas for improvement
Develop and maintain quality metrics and reports to track performance and identify trends
Ensure compliance with all relevant quality standards and regulations
Conduct training for production personnel on quality control procedures and techniques
Perform gage calibration, maintain calibration records and upkeep of Quality lab Requirements:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
Minimum of 3 years of hands-on quality engineering or technician experience in metal parts manufacturing
Knowledge of quality control tools and techniques, including statistical process control (SPC), Six Sigma, and lean manufacturing
Proficiency in using various measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
Knowledge in CMM operation and programming – Not mandatory
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Experience with IATF 16949 and other relevant quality standards and regulations
Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 5:30pm, (avg. 50 hr/wk)
Permanent position - 90 day contract to direct hire
