Pay Rate: $35/hr
1st and 2nd Shift Available:
1st Shift: 7a-3:30pm
2nd Shift: 3:30pm-12am w/ $0.60 Shift Premium

Position Summary:
The Sr. Machine Technician assist the Assistant Manager, Maintenance Technician by providing direction,
establishing priorities, assigning tasks, and coordinating work projects of maintenance technicians. In addition,
the Sr. Machine Technician will perform alongside machine technicians to setup, troubleshoot, repair, and
maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, and productive maintenance systems and
processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives. Works cooperatively with
Production Manager, Assistant Managers and Supervisors to achieve maximum production of equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist Assistant Mgr, Techs in the coordination of Maintenance Technician’s for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently.
Assists technicians as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
Maintains accurate records regarding PMs, service requests (received and completed), expenditures, work-in-progress, etc.
Schedules and performs routine maintenance on all appropriate equipment on a regular bias basis.
Inspects and maintains all tools in excellent condition.
Indoctrinates and assists in development of maintenance technician staff. Instills a “safety first” attitude.
Oversees and maintains adequate inventory of spare parts and maintenance materials to handle most common repairs and situations.
Performs highly diversified duties to maintain production machines.
Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performing scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service
Performs machine setups and train machine operators in the daily maintenance and setup of their machines.
Performs mechanic skills including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, repair of production machines, etc.
Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
Diagnosis’s problems, replacing or repairing parts, testing, and adjusting
Performs regular preventive maintenance on machines.
Detects faulty operations and defective material and reporting those and any unusual situations to proper supervision

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
Must have experience in the printing industry including knowledge of Pitney Bowes equipment (inserters), MSD/APS/MPS, Bell & Howell (inserters), MCS (ink jets), MBO America (sheet/roll fed folders, sheeters), Speedo (folders, sheeters), Rollem (UV coater), Stahl folding equipment, Hunkler, Mailstream Direct Inserter, Hot Melt Gluing Systems, Tabber/Labeler, Bindery equipment, Professional mail shop, Neopost Mailing Systems, MCS perfect match and inline printing knowledge, A strong electro-mechanical aptitude, Diagnose Mechanical and Electrical problems using technical drawings (e.g., blueprints, Electrical/Mechanical Schematics) and diagnostic tools, Troubleshoots and repair Motor Control problems on equipment with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Soft Starts, Servo Drives, and External Input / Output (I/O) Devices. Fulfillment Center, Maintains a list of parts, suppliers and machinery repair companies, Lettershop/ direct mail production, Assist in machine set-up
A degree in engineering with mechanical specialty with at least ten years cognitive and vocational experience in handling machine and machine parts.
Must exhibit outstanding ability to demonstrate and train others on the fundamental of the functioning of machines.
Excellent general understanding of hydraulic and pneumatics systems, electrical components, and programmable logic controllers.
Must be able to diagnose and solve malfunctions using a combination of technical expertise and analytical thinking and guide others into resolving problems.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.
Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.
Proficiency in Microsoft Windows environment with immediate level skill in Microsoft Office
