Tool Room Grinder

Pay rate: $20/hr + $1/hour shift prem.
3rd shift: 11 PM – 7 AM
Job Summary:
We are seeking an entry-level Tool Room Grinder to join our team.
In this role, you will be responsible for the building, repairing and setting up tooling to ensure the Production department operates
smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate the surface grinder, measuring work to exact proportions:
A. Sharpen high-speed (HS) tooling
B. Grind new tooling for the high-speed jobs
• Receive die from the Press Room and work assignments from leader; diagnose issues and perform necessary grinding
• Learn to use micrometers, calipers and other measuring gages
• Learn to operate tool room machinery, including surface grinders, lathes and drill presses
• Learn how to fabricate and maintain tooling inserts
• Learn how to repair high-speed blanking dies, compound dies and progressive dies.
Job Requirements:
• Must have experience w/ surface grinding
• Strong communication skills, excellent attendance, and a collaborative team spirit.
• Basic understanding of shop math
• Physical requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., pass a physical exam, and work on elevated press platforms
• Mechanical aptitude and a strong desire to learn and grow within the role
